Email Security Training
Email is a threat to our systems and data. We receive hundreds of attempts to breach our systems every week and block most of them. There is always a chance though that a malicious email will be delivered to your inbox. The methods used by hackers are evolving constantly and they work proactively to beat the security systems. Not all malicious emails are dangerous, but some of them can cause huge disruption and recovery takes a lot of time and money.
The [PIAS] IT team, in partnership with our IT security partners, Stripe OLT, periodically send out simulated phishing messages. This is a training initiative to help staff to understand how to spot malicious emails and to identify anyone who needs some help in that area.
If you receive an email notifying you that you have been enrolled in training the please spend some time to attend the online course. It only takes a few minutes. After that, if you have questions please ask your nearest IT Help Desk person.
This is how you can tell that the training enrolment email is legitimate:
The email is from "helpdesk@pias.com"
The subject is "Training assignment notification"
It will refer the reader to this site, https://helpdesk.pias.com/ but will not contain a hyperlink.
